She Believed She Could

Today is the day I am sharing my big news with you.

After much dreaming and debate I have decided to branch out beyond my space at Trussville Antiques and Interiors and open my very own shop.

Yep.
My. Very. Own. Shop.
Omgah, Omgah, Omgah!

I have never been more excited and more nervous at the same time!

Of course I will keep my shop open in Trussville. I absolutely LOVE my customers and all of the folks at Trussville Antiques and Interiors. I've had my shop there for many years and I feel very much a part of the Trussville family.

My new shop will be a different kind of adventure:
A vintage, unique, and handmade market that will provide a fresh and new shopping experience each visit.
I plan to be open two to three long weekends per month.
You can expect to find fresh inventory, displays, and exciting events taking place during each market weekend.
Cool, right?
I'm so excited!!!

Because I am opening so close to Christmas we plan to operate more like a regular shop during the month of December. We'll have extended shopping days and hours and the halls will be decked all month long!

The new shop will be located on First Avenue in the charming historical heart of downtown Oneonta, Alabama. There are several other vintage and antique shops on First Avenue and great eats just across the street at Miller's Soda Shoppe.

This has been a long time dream of mine. Luckily the forces of the universe aligned in such a way as to make it possible for me to give my dream a try. I feel truly blessed to have this opportunity.

My Grand Opening announcement will be coming soon!

Much love,
Dawn

I'm Dreaming of a Pink Christmas

May your days be merry and bright...
And may all of your Christmases be PINK!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Good morning, friends!

Last night's Christmas Open House at The Pink Porch @ Trussville Antiques and Interiors was a success.
Lots of folks, including my amazing family, braved the bitter cold, wind, and horrible rush hour traffic to come shop, visit, and snack.
I appreciate each of you so very much!

Took a few shots of the shop in her Christmas finery.
Enjoy!

Couldn't resist a little traditional red and green.
I do love traditional holiday colors, too.

Much love,
Dawn

Welcome Fall!

O, Fall, how do I love thee.
Let me count the ways!
I love thee all over the flippin' place!
**smile**

I'm so excited it's officially here, my favorite season, the best time of the year!

Seriously awesome home and fall display. Did you notice the little pumpkins over the windows?
Love!

Welcome fall!!!
I woke up to a downright chilly morning here in Alabama. Enjoyed my coffee in the kitchen with all the windows open. What a lovely way for fall to make her entrance!

I'm so glad it's finally here. I love everything about it!  It's such a cozy, homey season. College football is in full swing - don't really watch it, but I absolutely LOVE hearing it in the background while I'm busy around the house doing fun weekend stuff, or not so much fun weekend stuff for that matter (laundry, hello!).

Pumpkin spice makes a comeback - woohoo! I've burned my pumpkin spice candles, had pumpkin spice in my coffee, and tasted pumpkin spice donuts for the first time (heavenly) so far this year. I'm currently on the look-out for the pumpkin spice Oreo cookies my mother called to tell about after she saw them on Kathie Lee and Hoda the other day. :)

Candy corn and mellowcreme pumpkins are back. I love them both and watch the drugstore shelves for them beginning in mid August. I bought a small bag of each several weeks ago. It's never to early for some candy corn!

Autumn leaves - Honestly is there a display in nature more beautiful and amazing than God's glorious autumn show?

Let's not forget hoodies, sweaters, cozy blankets, boots and blue jeans, the state fair, carmel apples, candy apples, mums, hayrides, fall festivals and crafts, harvest, Halloween, and Thanksgiving.
Oh, I just love it all!

I read a quote recently on Southern Living's facebook page that read "Fall is the southerner's reward for surviving summer" - James Farmer. No doubt that's the truth. I look forward to it every year. No matter how hot and steamy Labor Day weekend may be I can always feel the faintest bit of fall on the breeze or in the bend of the light. It makes me wistful and just the tiniest bit melancholy, but in a good way if that makes any sense.

I'm sharing some of my favorite fall Pinterest finds with you today. You can follow my fall board here:

Enjoy!

Such a lovely vignette from The Gathering Place.

Ok. So I'm adding picnic to my fall bucket list.

I love all of the sweet treats of autumn and I love this chalkboard by Less Than Perfect Life of Bliss. <3

I can feel myself relax just looking at this photo. Such serenity.

I have a barn, but it looks NOTHING like this. Don't suppose I could ever convince my hubby to find another spot to keep his tractor either. Oh well. So pretty!

I need that blanket in my life. Beautiful vignette by Three Pixie Lane.

Felt fall leaves. Divine. By 5 Orange Potatoes.

More delicious fall blankets from PolkaDoT Farm.

I love everything pumpkin...to eat, to drink, to smell, to carve.
Love!

Thanksgiving - fall's finale followed by the beginning of the Christmas season for me. We usually put the Christmas tree up at my parent's house the weekend after Thanksgiving. ♥

Hope you have something fun planned for today.
I'm dragging all of my fall decorations out of the attic and trickin' out the house.
Woot!

Much love,
Dawn
