Ideas and Inspiration - St. Patrick's Day

  Nope, I'm not Irish,
but I do love to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
I usually cook something special at home,
set the table with my vintage forest green Anchor Hocking glassware,
and wear something green so I don't get pinched
Last year I made corned beef brisket.
It was delish.
This year I'm going to try making Irish stew.
Looks pretty darn tasty doesn't it.
You can get the recipe here.

You have to have green beer on St. Patty's Day
(even if, like me, you only have a sip or two)
And a proper toast for the occasion:

"Saint Patrick was a gentleman,
Who through strategy and stealth,
Drove all the snakes from Ireland,
Here's a toasting to his health.
But not too many toastings
Lest you lose yourself and then
Forget the good Saint Patrick
And see all those snakes again."

And a few of my favorite emerald images from Pinterest in honor of the Emerald Isle.

Much love,

  1. Your blog is so cute and your green pictures are so so cool, not sure which pic I like the best, probably the irish stew, man does that look so special, I should have that for dinner, love the green polish as well and the doors and of course the ear rings are to die for,..loved it all...

    1. Hi Phyllis! Thank you so much! You know, I ended up going out to eat Irish food last Saturday so I didn't make the Irish stew after all. I made a corned beef brisket and boiled cabbage instead. Just put the brisket in the crock pot with the seasoning and some water and let it cook for 6-7 hours on low...much easier than chopping up all those veggies for the stew! lol!
